What is Yoga Therapy?

The IAYT (International Association of Yoga Therapists) defines Yoga Therapy as “the process of empowering individuals to progress toward improved health and well-being through the application of the teachings and practices of yoga.”

Yoga Therapy addresses more than just the physical concerns of your injury or condition. It addresses your physical, emotional, mental, as well as so much more to help you learn to overcome trauma in order to find healing. The therapist teaches you tools to bring about change in your own body and life.

How does yoga therapy help with sleep?

Jessica is a yoga therapist who specializes in helping clients sleep better and get more rest. During the session, she addresses not just the problem itself but works to help you break through old patterns and trauma to help learn tools to heal. You will learn yogic techniques including yoga nidra (yogic sleep--one of the few things that can substitute deep sleep), meditation, movement and breathing exercises, as well as nutrition and self-care suggestions from an Ayurvedic point of view—all which help you achieve better sleep and deeper rest and relaxation. Jessica will work 1:1 with you in person or via Zoom.
